Here's a new word for you English majors - Bvlgari Perfume. Like it? It's how the old Romans wrote Bulgari, and the company that bears the name thought it looked cooler that way (I don't know that, but I bet it's the truth!). Does that mean that you can't run a search for Bulgari Perfume? No, in fact a lot of perfume marketers actually spell it Bulgari, because they figure their customers aren't going to remember to put a V instead of a U. Would you remember it? A very famous designer label, Bvlgari makes more than just perfume. Their line also includes sunglasses and watches, just to name a few. They take great pride in their products; their watches are said to be equal to Rolex and their perfume is said to be the only perfume to wear if you're nominated for an Oscar. They aren't quite a household word yet, like Tiffany's, but they do have a cult-like following. If you're wondering why it's so pricey, take a look at one of their main ingredients...roses. Now you're probably thinking, "Hold on, roses?" But let me finish. Know how much it takes to make 1 ounce of pure rose oil? The answer is...4000 lbs. of rose petals! Holy cow! No wonder those bottles cost $100! Rose Essentielle is one of the more popular Bvlgari perfumes, and though its main ingredients are scents other than rose (whew! can you imagine a bottle of rose perfume? Exxxxpensive!), it still has a beautiful rose scent. One of the more realistic and fun options Bvlgari perfumes provides that many other designer perfume makers don't is that they sell tester sized bottles. They are usually are sold online, so you need to fire up the old Google and your old noodle in order to find them. One type of store that does sell them is a discount perfume store. These bottles usually do not have the fancy designs and packaging of their larger siblings, but do you want to buy the bottle or the perfume? eBay is another option if you're looking for tester bottles, but I wouldn't recommend it. Too many scams and knockoffs abound, and it's so hard to tell if you've got a good seller or not. With a discount perfume site, you're only dealing with one company, every time you purchase. If you do go the eBay way, check the feedback rating and never send money by wire! Ever! For those of you wondering what a bottle will cost, let me tell you. $90 to $130 will get you a 3.4 oz bottle of Bvlgari Rose Essentielle at a a department store, but if you shop at a wholesale perfume store, you'll be able to bring it home for about $50 or $60 dollars. That's not a typo...you can really score this perfume at over half off. Just make sure and let your best friends know, so they don't feel left out of the circle.
